How this site works
Every number here is labelled. A standard is a published figure: a named consensus standard such as ANSI/HFES 100 or ANSI/BIFMA X5.1, a manufacturer's own stated rating, or direct trigonometry. A convention is a widely used rule of thumb, like the multipliers that turn your height into a desk height. Both are useful. Confusing them is how people end up treating an estimate as a measurement of their own body.
Products come from the Amazon Product Advertising API, and a listing with no verified price or image is rejected rather than patched. Nothing here was tested in person, and the site says so on every page that recommends anything. What it offers instead is published specifications, published standards and the arithmetic that connects them to you.
